Arashi Chosen as 24 Hr TV Main Personality for 2nd Consecutive Year

On 1st January, it has been decided that Arashi will be the main personality for NTV’s 24 Hr TV this 2013. Arashi will be the main host for the 2nd consecutive year and their 4th time as the hosts. Fueled with a burning sense of mission, “We feel a great responsibility as the hosts again this year for NTV’s 60th anniversary”, Arashi commented.

The announcement was made during “Arashi ni Shiyagare New Year SP” where TOKIO was the guest. Moreover, it was announced that this year’s theme will be “ニッポンって…？この国のかたち” (“Nippon te…? ~kono kuni no katachi~” / ”What is Japan? The shape of this country")

. The theme was decided because Japan is said to be in a pinch when it comes to diplomatic, economic, political aspects etc…as well as reconsidering what is good and bad about Japan. Thus, the question: “What is Japan?“.

Pondering the question, the members responded about their own thoughts on “What is Japan?”.

Ohno : “Japan is…craftmanship.”

Aiba: “Japan is…I like the four seasons here in Japan.”

Matsumoto: “Japan is…there are lots of traditional culture.”

Ninomiya: Japan is…how old? How old is Japan? How about Japan? What is there? To achieve our purpose, we must answer this questions first.”

Sakurai: Japan is…Home. It is not how big our home is, it’s how big it is in our hearts.”
