Good morning. This is Arashi's Ohno Satoshi.
Every Friday I respond to messages received on this show.

First up is a topic that many people have asked about, so I'll tallk about that for a bit. That topic is "I went to the Yokohama Museum of Art and saw Nara Yoshitomo's work". 

That's right, I have too. I was with Nara-san a little before that exhibition was held. It wasn't quite for work but I went to see his work a little before the exhibition was held. Man, it was incredible. Beautiful!There was a huge painting this time. Right. More so than usual. Nara-san always has a personal sense of completion but this time, he's exhibited unfinished works too. Personally. I'd kinda like to try that. His use of colours is beautiful. He showed me how he did it.

But man, it was interesting. It was truly something worth seeing. I could look at it forever. It was extraordinarily interesting. I was a little jealous, conversely. A picture of that size must have been tough work. No matter how many days it takes, I'd like to do one too. Eh, so from now on I'd like to work on that little by little.


Right, continuing on, one from Kaho-san.

Good morning.
"I work at a cafe each morning before I go to university. So I prepare the coffee and make the sandwiches. Satoshi-kun, what do you normally have for breakfast? Also,I'd also like if you could say 'Kaho-chan, gimme a hot coffee'"

I see. I'm the bread-in-the-morning type. If I eat in the mornings, it'd be sweet bread. I had sweet bread today too. Well, in the mornings it'd be bread and yoghurt and coffee. Black. I've gotten kinda grown-up. Ever since I did the drama. I've become more grown-up recently. I used to put milk and stuff in, but lately I take it black. Yeah. So that's how it is.

Ah, Kaho-chan. Gimme a hot coffee please.


Continuing on, we have one from Satoeri-san from Tokyo.
"When I appear in front of people, I get so nervous that my face hardens and it's hard to smile. But from September onwards I'll be a trainee teacher and I'll have to give lessons in front of loads of children. How can I become better at smiling when appearing in front of people? Smile-Master Ohno-kun, please teach me."

I'm not a smile master. But well, that's right. It's diferent even now. There's a smile master after all. But whatever. (laughs)

Well, it's tough. I hate appearing in front of people, basically. But you have to do it a fair bit for this job. But I got where I am from doing that. 

Satoeri-chan. I think you get used to it. It might be like that at first, but after you get to know the kids, you'll learn how to do it. Well, so I can't really tell you. It's best if you enjoy it and do it naturally from there.

Good morning. This is Arashi's Ohno Satoshi.
Here's today's thought of the day; come on!

I have no clue. (laughs)
This is a metaphor for the bad aftertaste that comes with badmouthing people. It is used when speaking unnecessarily would invite disaster.

Ahh, I see. So if you say something by mistake. I guess I don't really do that. But it happens. Like, "I shouldn't have said that..." (laughs)Like "if that hadn't been said, there wouldn't be that atmosphere" sort of thing.

Speaking of which, my parents often do that. Times when it'd be fine not to point out every single thing. Then they start fighting. Well, it's a tough call. Yeah.

Ah! It's already September, everyone! I don't know if you realised it, but that means it's almost AraFes, right? This time we've incorporated various fan requests in the setlist. Well, really, there are some unexpected song choices in there too.

We're in the middle of rehearsals now. There's quite a lot of choreography from old songs to recall. There are songs I totally don't remember too. We've got videos of the choreography taken just in case. So that we don't leave anything out. So we look for those videos. 

Then when we all watch the videos, we'd be like "That's it! That's how it went!". We danced quite a fair bit back in the day. "Man, we were young," we'd say. And we actually did it properly. (laughs) We even danced properly for the choreography video!

We were sure bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. You'd like to see those guys back then, wouldn't you? Man, that's why we've gotta revive them. Not only that, it wouldn't work if we don't do it with the same feelings as we did back then. So we have a little under a month. It takes a lot of physical strength too. That's not good, seriously.

So the other day we had a rehearsal. Everyone was already exhausted. So today we gave up dancing. (laughs) Everyone got kinda sleepy. We're doing our best!

Well, we'll definitely live up to your expectations with all our might. We'd like to create something great.

Arashi might be Kohaku music special hosts this year

Arashi might be picked up to be NHK’s New Year’s Eve music special hosts for the third time, reports Tokyo Sports on September 7.

It has been reported NHK producers are beginning to look for potential hosts for Kohaku Uta Gassen’s red (akagumi) female artist team, and white (shirogumi) male artist team.

“A production team for the show has been finalised, and now they’ve begun discussions about what to do this year.  At this rate, Arashi will probably be asked to be the shirogumi hosts for the third straight year,” said one source from NHK.

Although no one can definitely say this will happen, there is no denying the fact the group attracted TV ratings of over 40% in their past two Kohaku shows.

It has been reported the most likely candidate for the women’s akagumi host this year will be actress Maki Horikita, who has been playing the main character in NHK’s popular drama 梅ちゃん先生 (Ume-chan Sensei).

Countdown for Ara-fest 5x13 !

Arashi to hold 「Ara-fest」 in Kokuritsu in 2012 and 2013

Popular group Arashi announced on July 20 that they will be holding concerts in Tokyo National Olympic Stadium (Kokuritsu) on September 20 and 21 for five consecutive years since 2008. The concert will mobilize a total of 140k audiences on two days. At the same time it is also determined that they will be holding concerts at Kokuritsu in 20

13 before the stadium enters into large-scale renovation after next year.

Entitled 「Ara-fest」 for this year and next year's live, the requests from fans will be recruited on their homepage and songs voted as according to ranking will eventually become the main configuration of the concert's concept. This is a first time attempt for Johnny's to seek requests from fans and it is a proposal by Arashi members themselves.

Aiba Masaki (29) "As there are only two years remaining before the stadium enters renovation, we are thinking of making this live different from what we usually does. I want to make a «Best of the Best» Arashi Live." Usually for Johnny's concerts, large numbers of Johnny's juniors will be mobilized and it is revealed that "This time it will be performed by the 5 of us only. We wanted to make a new challenge, and honestly it is kind of scary but we talked about having a performance with only the 5 of us. 70k audience + 5 of us. We want to make it gaudy as it is the festival of Arashi."

In addition Aiba, Ohno Satoshi (31) and Matsumoto Jun (28) visited New York at the end of June for site observation in reference to concert productions, and has been to Broadway musicals, Cirque du Soleil's show 「Zarkana」 and so forth. "We want to make the best of what we have studied and create a stage that is different from what we have done so far".

The list of songs is subjected to a total of 240 songs including singles, couplings and album tracks. Approximately the top 30 songs in ranking will be selected and performed.

Arashi after 10 years?

[What does Arashi sees after 10 years?] 
Do you plan to have a big family in the future?

Ninomiya: Well, after 10 years, I still want to continue being with Arashi. I think our job as an individual entertainer will increase. But I think the time that Arashi meets on their private time will decrease. But I think, it'll be fun the more were always together.

Sakurai: I hope we can still continue to have our regular programs after 10 years. Isn't that amazing?

Matsumoto: I still want to do live concerts. And as of now, its a miracle that we can have live every year. Because there are a lot of places that we still haven't been for our tour.

Ohno: I'm already 40 years old huh... I bet i can still do live concerts while laughing. (laughs)

Aiba: Well for me, I hope i can buy a villa. I'll be welcoming all those who wants to visit!

Sakurai: Can I? (laughs)

Ohno: I want a villa wherein I can do fishing though, Its okay for me, you guys don't have to come. fufufu~

Sakurai: Though Aiba-chan bought a villa for 5 persons, but it seems that everyone won't come. (laughs)

Aiba: It's like gathering time is not good? Is that what will happen in 10 years!?

Matsumoto: I wonder, if there are someone who already got married at that time. Well, if that's me, I want my first child to be a girl and my second child is a boy. Its because I have an older sister, so that's what I imagine.

Sakurai: Well for me, I want to have a boy for my first child and a girl for my second child though, but perhaps it might be the same as what matsujun is imagining.

Aiba: It's because a girl is always concern.

Ohno: Yes, being concern on what kind of boyfriend she'll have.

Ninomiya: Well leader, isn't it that your supposed to be engaged? (laughs)

Matsumoto: If ever everyone of us has a child, it'll be fun to have a barbeque!

Sakurai: Perhaps, if ever one of the member got a bigger family, there'll be a special programme that'll be broadcasted.

Aiba: It'll be "Big Daddy!" right!

Sakurai: How about "Arashi-daddy"? (laughs)

Apparently, Aiba’s tennen image is becoming a hindrance to Arashi’s image as the era where it was okay for idols to only sing and dance is over. 
Idols today are much more appreciated if

 they are well-educated.

Case in point, Arashi’s rapper and Zero newscaster Sakurai Sho.

As Aiba does not read the news or informative books a lot [apparently, he doesn’t know who Japan’s prime minister is], he has been warned by the jimushou to study more.

Because Arashi are national idols, a “stupid” member is unacceptable.

Yet another Sho Sakurai rumor about his treatment to fans…

Arashi‘s Sho Sakurai was heavily-praised for his hosting skills with the recently concluded “24 hr TV“; however, he received some backlash from international fans whom he reportedly ignored when he shot “Nazodi”.

Sho Sakurai and Keiko Kitagawa were in Singapore last July to shoot for the movie version of their hit drama, “Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de” or simply “Nazodi”. It has been reported that while Kitagawa was  being very friendly to fans who visited the set, Sakurai was the complete opposite. Despite Sakurai’s statement about he wishing for Singaporean fans to watch the movie, his actions didn’t reflect his statements. Aside from always wearing a cap and keeping his head down, he also uses other people as “shield” to hide from prying eyes of the fans. There was also a strict policy not to take any pictures of Sakurai, and he was also being closely watch and guarded by staffs from Johnny’s.

One insider defended Sakurai’s sulky mood. He claimed that even though camera’s are strictly prohibited, there are those who couldn’t resist taking pictures and there was even someone who was able to filmed the shooting process and uploaded it on a site. Though the officials were able to take down the said video, Sakurai gained a reputation abroad (according to a news program) as a “misunderstood idol who rejects fan service”.

Even though idols have the right not to do any fan service, especially to those who committed prohibited acts and who can’t follow simple rules, Sakurai seems the odd one out since the rest of his co-stars has been friendly. Due to this, he is viewed negatively by those who misunderstand him.

Despite all this negative write-ups about Sakurai, there are still those who are willing to understand his situation. Not only he is shooting “Nazodi”, he still has commitments for 24 hr TV, NEWS ZERO where he has to make preparations for his coverage of the London Olympics, and his regular programs involving Arashi. Taking his full-packed schedule into consideration, it can’t be helped if his mood have taken the worse.

Before this, once Shige talking about he debut on fishing with Leader Arashi on Hey hey hey! Music champ 2009. He look very happy with Ohno-kun at that time, they even fishing for 24 hours (in other place Ohno-kun said that he went fishing for 25 hour). This is caps from Hey hey hey :

Ohno-kun really addicted of fishing, but he had another hobby too. Riida likes painting and RC. Once, Sho-kun and Aiba-chan have been going to fishing with him. Sho-chan really surprise when Ohno-kun on the boat, Sho-chan said that Oh-chan really active when he fishing.

あっという間に20代が終わりそうです。 僕が20歳になったのが2003年だから。。2003年っ ていうと、「How's～」のツアーや、「君はペット 」をやらせてもらった年。 大分、昔の気もするけど、それから色々な事を経験 させてもらい、今に至ります。

本当に楽しい時間がたくさんあって、あっという間 に感じるけど、充実した日々でした。

これからは20代のまとめとして、いい一年になるよ うに過ごしたいです

ARASHI good morning!!

It's finally here.

From today forward, I, Matsumoto have entered the final year of the twenties.

I have gotten many messages here on this site also, thank you so much!! With so many people celebrating for me, I'm really kansha kangeki! I, Matsumoto is very happy.

I feel like my twenties is going to end very fast. 2003 was when I turned 20. Talking about 2003, that was the year I was able to do the tour "Hows~" and the drama "kimi ha petto." It feels like a really long time ago, but from there I was able to experience many events to become who I am today.

There were so many fun times and it feels like time is flying, but those days were not wasted.

from now I would like to spend one good year as the end of my twenties.

from now on, please take care of me.

For us, we have just finished the 24hr TV event and are in the middle of rehearsing for Arafes!

This time, we have the results of everyone's request, so I feel like we can make something different than before.

What is it going to be like? What songs will we hear?

Excited?

Gonna work towards Arafes!
