Story
At a certain local city,
Fujioka Kouta (Ohno Satoshi) lives the typical life of a worthless youth with no
passion. He's usually a poor drunk and a slacker, a university dropout... an
average youth from the remote countryside.
This average guy is
surrounded by a warm family, Fujioka Kenjiro is a reliable father who is always
watching over them, Fujioka Yasuko is a kind-hearted mother who manages the
family's healthy lifestyle with her homemade dishes, Fujioka Koharu is the sister
and the mood maker of the family.
Even though Kouta is like
this, he eventually finds something he wants to try. Which is cooking, to be
able to prepare something delicious for everyone. He starts working at a
restaurant as an apprentice chef.
Things happen just when he
has a steady job and progressive relationship with his girlfriend, Tanabe
Etsuko. Kouta unexpectedly collapses and is taken to the hospital.
Murayama doctors diagnose
him with malignant lymphoma, a cancer of the blood --- remember this cancer?
Since then, Kouta and his
family's life change, but he can't understand what he feels.
The chemotherapy is more
than what he expects, and a growing distance develops between Kouta and Etsuko,
between Kouta and his family. Something important breaks ---.
Hospitalization is
difficult; Kouta will have encouters that will transform his life and those
around him.
Harada Nobuo (Yamada) is a
young man with prosthetics and has been sick since he was very young. He spends
most of his life at the hospital, and has faced death several times.
Every day, a solitary man is
on the roof of the hospital doing this strange exercise, Kokyuu-san. A lone
woman, Okubo Yuriko, who works as the hospital counselor, will be in the shade
somewhere.
These encounters changes
something in Kouta.
Kouta endures the painful
chemotheraphy and defeats the cancer.
Only for it to return ---
giving him only three months left to live.
Kouta's family desperately
continue to support him, through Kenjiro's strong encouragement of "It'll
be alright", through Yasuko's affectionate home cooking, and through
Koharu's smile to keep going.
Knowing his own life span,
Kouta is determined "to live properly, and to die properly".
What can be [done] in the
time that's left?
Kouta's "time to die
properly" has begun.
In this drama SP, Ohno-kun was crying and dying. For me, it's really rarely to see him appeared on drama SP, got a role and acting as patient. This drama will on air on august 2013.
